GM kills Saturn after Penske ends deal – Sep. 30, 2009
Car dealership operator Penske Automotive Group announced on Wednesday that it has cancelled plans to acquire General Motors’ Saturn unit. As a result, GM said it will wind down the brand and dealer network, potentially putting 13,000 Saturn dealership jobs at risk. The announcement comes nearly four months after Penske agreed to buy the rights to the 19-year old brand from GM when the automaker was in bankruptcy.

New BMW X1 review from Car Enthusiast
Another day and more reviews of the new BMW X1. If so far most of the reviews have been positive, the people at Car Enthusiast had some mixed feelings about the car. One of the less attractive elements about the car is related to the X1 interior, most specifically, the quality of the materials used

Orange County Motorcycle Accident Is Fatal
A man died in an Orange County motorcycle accident the morning of September 30, 2009 on the 405 Freeway near the Goldenwest Street exit in Westminster, The Orange County Register reports. California Highway Patrol officials said the motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was riding a white Suzuki sport bike and hit the center divider. It is not known whether he swerved to avoid debris on the freeway or another vehicle before striking the divider.

Hyundai Equus stetched version on the drawing board
Hyundai is set to take aim at the German big boys with a US$113,000 stretched version of its flagship Equus. Likely to be dubbed the Equus Limousine, the wheelbase would be extended some 300mm over that of the standard sedan taking the Limousines’s total length to 5461mm.
